Xtract is no stranger to today's dance music, few people can say they can mix competently across different genres, but this is one of xtract's advantages over most DJ's. Although he likes quite a range, he mainly sticks to playing Old Skool Hardcore, Drum 'n' Bass these days. Xtract particularly loves the Old Skool vibe, so it's of no surprise that he is quoted as saying one of his biggest musical inspirations is Liam Howlett of 'the Prodigy'. Xtract has also been a keen promoter, organising such popular events as the likes of 'Beatroots', 'Bedrome', 'Full Phat', 'Harder', 'Freeflow' and 'ruff..' nights in the Midlands. He's also been resident DJ @ 'Pulse' night club, as well as 'Top Banana/Boshed' events after winning a DJ competition to gain his residency. As well as Drum & Bass and Old Skool xtract has also played a number of other styles including Breakbeat, Hard House, Speed Garage, Techno, Hardcore, Big Beat, Funky House, Trance, Gabba and Garage. Infact if it's got a beat you can dance too, he's probably played it. As well as Djing for 'Red Bull' and playing alongside the likes of SY, Nick Sentience, M-Zone, Trevor Nelson, Artful Dodger and Rob Dalby, xtract is also part of the 'System Check' roster. At these events he has be known to play a selection of Old Skool and Drum & Bass tracks, cutting, scratching and mixing it up to perfection. Xtract has had some previousradio experience before, during his Television & Radio Course Degree at Staffordshire University (Stoke-On-Trent Campus). Where he achieved a high 2:1 grade. Xtract is always up for putting on a good show, but generally dislikes people in the business who forget what, and where they come from.
