Kirsty Hawkshaw

Kirsty Hawkshaw is a female dance/ Electronica / House / Ambient /Drum and Bass / Artist, photographer and songwriter who is known for her signature angelic vocals.

At a rave event in 1991 she was noticed by producers Opus 111, It was through this meeting that they would form a Dance act called Opus III. Their first single, “It’s A Fine Day” from their debut album Mind Fruit was an international smash and hit #1 on Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 1992. They also had another US #1 hit on the Dance chart in 1994 with “When You Made The Mountain” from their second and last album Guru Mother. The album outsold Prince and Madonna in 1992 in Japan.

Since then her unique voice has been in demand by other acts in the Dance, House, Eurodance, Trance, and Electronica community, and she sang vocals and co/wrote on some of DJ Tiesto's finest moments when he was at his peak three year stint as the worlds number 1 DJ, songs such as "Just Be', Walking on Clouds', and Battleship Grey - on many occasions while touring, Kirsty has been called 'The Voice of Tiesto', but Kirsty will adamantly dismiss this and say 'It's my voice actually'.. Kirsty sang on BT'S album 'Movement in Still life' on the songs 'Running Down the Way Up, and 'Judie Tzuke's 'Dreaming'. Kirsty is also currently featured on BT's new album 'These Hopeful Machines.' She was also the featured 'hands in the air' vocal moment on Orbital's classic 'Halcyon' Brown and sang the arabic vocal on Lush. She also appears in the video for Halcyon dressed up as a Mother completely zonked out on housewife drugs. The list goes on.

But while her voice continues to soar in many dance hits around the world, Kirsty has been creating a different kind of music in her home studio. Her style is ambient electronica with no or minimalist vocals, that is serene, innocent and sublime.

On October 10, 2005 she released Meta-Message through the record label Nettwerk.

Kirsty Hawkshaw runs her own website, networking and staying in touch with her fans through all the major networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. "We are living in very different times now as far as the music Industry goes, and I plan to spend more time being a good Mummy to my beautiful children, my free time in the studio writing songs for them and for those I like working with.

Kirsty is finalising an album with the legendary Ulrich Schnauss and will be releasing a 'best of' trance album in 2013 on an undisclosed label.
